The Episcopal Church has approved 44 Stewardship of Creation grants for local projects, including many great ideas that your parish or diocese could do too. Every Thursday, we feature one here!
Today we highlight an inspiring partnership between Haiti and Connecticut. St. John’s Episcopal Church – Stamford, CT received $10,000 to “fund a reforestation program with the Parish of the Good Samaritan in Grose Morne, Haiti, and will include a video which will be used with the re-planting program and formation within the community.”
This work is part of St. John’s longstanding relationship with Haiti. The parish sends $15,000 to the Bon Samaritan School every year, even began a mission congregation with services in French for Stamford’s Haitian community. This is a great example of how all the ministries we already offer can and must include an environmental aspect. Thank you, St. John’s!
